Their traditions are still alive as they were preserved through the years of English presence in Jamaica. Other nations such as Europeans and Asian nations are also part of the Jamaican heritage. The people of these nations came to Jamaica many years ago. The reasons for their arrival were different. Some came to colonize, other to conquer, and some to live in Jamaica. This resulted into the present Jamaican people. The African people are dominant part of the Jamaican people. There are also European people as well as Indians, Chinese, Syrians, Lebanese, Scottish and Jewish. Every little part of the Jamaican culture – the food, the cuisine, the music and arts, is influenced buy the people of Jamaica and in fact by the different nations that create the Jamaican society. The people of Jamaica are kind and warm. They are very friendly and hospitable. Jamaicans love to laugh; they are very emotional and are always ready to help. That is why people from other countries love to come to Jamaica and love Jamaicans in general. Another interesting fact about Jamaican people is their language. As mentioned English is the official Jamaican language but most of the Jamaicans speak Creole dialect. Also they are likely to 'invent' words when they need to express something clearly. This is making the Jamaican language very interesting. Jamaican people are found about their religion. As they are very religious there are a lot of churches in Jamaica - some believe that Jamaica has the most churches per square mile in the world. The most widely spread religion in Jamaica is Christianity. However the Rastafari movement is also very strong and has many followers. Jamaicans are keen on politics as well. The majority of the Jamaicans are even political fanatics. They are also keen on sports, especially on football. Jamaican people are very talented and that is why they work in various fields around the world. Their world popularity is also supported by their music and sport teams. The most popular Jamaican music style is the reggae music. It is part of the culture of Jamaica and the Jamaican people love it. The most famous reggae artist is Bob Marley. Other world known musicians are Shaggy, Melody Makers, Shabba Ranks, Black Uhuru, Sly Dunbar and Robby Shakespeare. The National Motto of Jamaica people says: 'Out of Many, One People'.
