There are several religions in Jamaica – Christian, Rastafari, Bahai, Buddhism, Islam, Practices of Spiritism, cult of Obeah.

The majority of people of Jamaica are Christians – on average 65%. The majority are Protestant because of the long period of English presence and colonization of the island. The largest denominations in Jamaica are: Church of God, Seventh-day Adventist, Baptist, Pentecostal and Anglican.

The next religion widely spread in Jamaica is the Rastafari. It was founded by the late Emperor Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia.
